Billy and Bertie arrived at RSPCA Stapeley Grange, in Nantwich, in June after their previous owner could no longer care for them due to ill health.

But sadly nobody has come forward to offer the two-year-old cats a new home since.

Joyce Mellor, deputy manager of the cattery, said: “They are striking-looking cats but they seem to have been overlooked by potential adopters, which is very sad as they are such lovely, gentle cats.

“When they first arrived they were extremely shy but they have settled in now and they enjoy playing and getting cuddles from volunteers.

“They are brothers and also best friends, they are very close and they would need to be homed together as they don’t like to be apart. It isn’t unknown for them to curl up together with their heads resting on one another.

“Ideally they would need to go somewhere quiet. With the right family they will flourish.”
